WPT Grand Prix de Paris attracts 312 entrants

One of the longest running WPT tournaments seems to still be going strong as the World Poker Tour Grand Prix de Paris managed to attract a solid field of 312 players willing to put up the €7,500 entry-fee for the Main Event.

The Grand Prix de Paris was the first WPT tournament to be held outside of the United States back in 2003 and over the years has been one of the most popular spots on the tour, not to mention the tournaments responsibility for the rise of many of Europe’s top poker players.

With the Epic Poker League Main Event set to award a first-place prize of around $780k to its winner (out of a $2.3 million prize-pool), the Grand Prix de Paris kept pace with those numbers, boasting a first place prize of nearly $730k. Here is a look at the final table payouts for the Grand Prix de Paris Main Event:

  • 1st place: $729,886
  • 2nd place: $442,645
  • 3rd place: $299,834
  • 4th place: $218,860
  • 5th place: $187,597
  • 6th place: $125,083

With the Euro poker tournament season heating up many of the best poker players in the world were in Paris for the tournament while they take part in their extended European vacations. Amongst the players that have survived to Day 2 of the tournament are Guillame Darcourt, jani Sointula, Marvin Rettenmeier, Mike Sexton, Mclean Karr, Maxim Lykov, Juha Helpi, Tony Dunst, Joseph Cheong, Praz Bansi, Sorel Mizzi, and Freddy Deeb.
