WPT to host its own $100k Poker Tournament
In a press issued this Monday, the World Poker Tour has made it official that it will be throwing its hat into the Super-High-Roller poker tournament ring. The WPT will be hosting a $100k buy-in tournament as part of the upcoming WPT World Championship series at Bellagio (The Main Event will take place from May 14-20), and the $100k tourney will take place over two days on the 18th and 19th of May.
The $100,000 buy-in tournament will not only be the largest in WPT history, it will also be the first Super-High-Roller tournament that will air on television as the WPT has announced its plans to incorporate the high-roller footage with the WPT Championship footage for its FSN broadcast.
Several notable players have already confirmed they will be in attendance including Mr. High-Roller, Erik Seidel as well trader/poker player Dan Shak, and up and coming star Justin “Boosted J” Smith.
Steve Heller, the CEO of the World Poker Tour had this to say in the press release: “Hosting a hundred thousand dollar buy-in event within the WPT World Championship series means the world’s elite players have a chance to show their mettle as they battle for one of the year’s most coveted titles and one of the highest buy-in titles, all within a single week,”
Main Event packages for all WPT tour stops may be booked through WPT Online Registration: http://www.wptregistrations.com.
