WSOP International Circuit Heads To Sydney In November With $2 Mi

The global poker circuit saw yet another year with jam packed action spread across different continents as poker operators have continued to up the stakes and host hundreds of exciting events to cater to the growing demand and needs of poker players. As the year comes to a close, poker action is slowing down as everyone starts preparing for the holiday season and enjoying a relaxing time with the family.

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is one of the premier brands in the global poker industry and has been instrumental in hosting a majority of the top poker tournaments across the world including the 2017 WSOP which took place at the Rio in Las Vegas, Nevada. The WSOP is scheduled to hold yet another exciting poker tournament before 2017 closes.

WSOPC Sydney

The 2017 WSOP International Circuit will head to Sydney, Australia in November and stop over at the Star Poker Room. The tournament will start on 28 November and finish on 18 December and will feature a Main Event that comes with a $2 million guaranteed prize pool. This 21 day tournament will feature a total of 13 events and have as many as 14 WSOP Gold Circuit Rings up for grabs.

Star Poker will host the WSOP International Circuit for the second consecutive year and has confirmed that it has made arrangements to seat as many players as required. The 2016 WSOP International Circuit saw its opening event get capped at 1,200 players simply because Star Poker did not have enough seating room to accommodate the flood of players who were interested in taking part. The opening tournament had a A$500k guarantee and was eventually won by George Psarras who received A$90k for his efforts.

Number Of Exciting Events

Star Poker expects the 2017 edition to bring in a lot more players and has made arrangements to cater to everyone. Australian professional and amateur players from all over the country are expected to head to Sydney while a number of international players are also expected to make the trip down under and be a part of the 2017 WSOP International Circuit. Some of the top pros in attendance will be Joe Hachem who won the 2005 WSOP Main Event and PokerStars Team Ambassador Celina Lin.

Apart from the Main Event, some of the other interesting events on offer will be the Opening Event which has a A$500K guarantee, the A$$20,000 High Rollers event, the Masters Event, the A$1,100 Monster Stack Event and a number of mixed games. Poker players who find it difficult to raise enough funds to make the buy-in, can take advantage of the satellite events which are currently underway and offers players the chance to enter the 2017 WSOP International Circuit.

Joel Dodds won the 2016 Main Event and received A$360,364 for his first place finish and also received an automatic entry into the 2017 WSOP Global Casino Championship which had a $1 million guarantee.
