Isildur1 destroys Ziigmund in $1.4 million session

For anyone watching the high-stakes tables at PokerStars this past weekend it may have seemed like they were watching the Full Tilt Poker tables in late 2009 when Viktor “Isildur1” Blom first made his appearance at the nosebleed poker tables. Although his weekend clash was with another Full Tilt Poker legend, Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies, the match itself took place on PokerStars, where Blom is a Team PokerStars Pro, and Sahamies plays under the screen-name “Ilari_FIN”.

Over the course of 24 hours Blom was able to relieve Sahamies of around $1.4 million according to the online poker tracking site highstakesdb.com, and despite losing some of that profit to the rest of the high-stakes PLO community, Blom still managed to end the weekend with profits of over $1 million.

The two have been battling back and forth for weeks now, and after a series of smallish swings in each direction it was Sahamies who destroyed Blom and a few other high-stakes players last week for over $700k in profits. His big upswing put Sahamies in the black for the first time in 2011, but after his crushing loss to Blom this weekend he is once again in the red –even deeper than before.

Blom has seen his profits go on a rollercoaster ride all year long, was once again flirting with red numbers himself prior to his big weekend score. Now Blom is one of the most profitable players in poker for the year –whether he can continue to roll, or will once again lose his profits back remains to be seen!
