partypoker-laptopParty Poker’s unique tournament format, the Premier League, has become one of the most-hyped and star-studded events on the poker calendar, and this year –the sixth running of the Premier League– was no exception. Some of the biggest names in poker took part in the Premier League, which pits 16 players, separated into two separate groups, against one another in a series of four matches with the top point getters moving on to the final table.

Among the participants in the tournament were Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, and the now-former Party Poker team member Tony G, but none of these players were able to make it through heat play, and left the $125,000 buy-in tournament with nothing but memories. Despite the three biggest names failing to reach the final table the beauty of the Premier League is that it’s impossible to have a final table without poker superstars. Below you’ll see how heat play panned-out.

Group A Results:

* 1st Place: Jonathan Duhamel (42 points)

* 2nd Place: Daniel Cates (34 points)

* 3rd Place: Sam Trickett (27 points)

* 4th Place: Antonio Esfandiari (23 points)

* 5th Place: Scott Seiver (21 points)

* 6th Place: Phil Hellmuth (21 points)

* T-7th Place: Marvin Rettenmaier (16 points)

* T-7th Place: Daniel Negreanu (16 points)

In Group A Jonathan Duhamel, Daniel Cates, and Sam Trickett were the automatic qualifiers for the final table as the top three point getters (each point also dictates a player’s final table chip-count: 1 point = 10,000 chips) while Antonio Esfandiari bested Scott Seiver in a heads-up match to claim the fourth spot.

Group B Results:

* 1st Place: Tobias Reinkemeier (46 points)

* 2nd Place: Dan Shak (39 points)

* 3rd Place: Talal Shakerchi (28 points)

* 4th place: Tony G

* 5th Place: Jennifer Tilly (19 points)

* 6th Place: Jason Mercier

* 7th Place: Igor Kurganov

* 8th Place: Phil Laak

In Group B it was Tobias Reinkemeier, Dan Shak, and Talal Shakerchi grabbed seats by virtue of finishing on the top three spots in Group play, while Jen Tilly bested Tony G for the final spot in their heads-up match.

And here is a look at the official final table payouts courtesy of the Party Poker blog:

* 1st place: Dan Shak, $450,000

* 3rd place: Antonio Esfandiari, $150,000

* 5th place: Daniel “Jungleman” Cates, $100,000
