At each stop on the upcoming Epic Poker League there will be a $20,000 buy-in Main Event for EPL tour-card holders and special qualifiers; a Pro-m tournament which produces said qualifiers; and a charity tournament, which the Epic Poker League released the details for yesterday.

The first charity tournament will benefit Operation USA, which aims to help the residents of Joplin, Missouri. The tournament will feature a $240 buy-in and $100 rebuys and add-ons –100% of the prize-pool will be donated to the Operation USA charity.

A single $2,500 cash prize will be awarded to the winner of the tournament, courtesy of a donation by Zappos, with the remainder of the field all receiving at least a $100 Gift Certificate:

* 1st place — $2,500, a $1,500 Pro-Am seat, and a Champions Bracelet

* 2nd place — $1,500 Pro-Am seat

* 3rd place — $1,500 Pro-Am seat

* 4th – 9th place – various prizes including including an iPad 2, jewelry by Lord Griffon and tickets to Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club.

* All entrants will receive a $100 Gift Certificate from Zappos and an exclusive gift bag

The tournament will be hosted by actor Brad Garrett, a longtime poker enthusiast, with Joplin resident and poker player Jeremiah Smith joining Garrett as an honorary co-host of the event.

The tournament will begin 7PM Sunday, August 7th, at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas, with a cocktail hour taking place at 6PM –a perfect idea for a rebuy tournament!
