Frankenberger wins Party Poker Premiere League

It’s a small, select, group: Juha Helpi, Andy Black, JC Tran, David Benyamine, and now you can add Andy Frankenberger to that list after the reigning WPT Player of the Year captured the Party Poker Premiere League title on Thursday. Frankenberger navigated his way through the extremely talented field of 16 players, and bested a final table that included November Niner Matt Giannetti, reigning BLUFF Magazine Player of the Year Sorel Mizzi, talented Brits James Dempsey and Andrew Feldman (one of the top online poker UK players), and Italian Max Pescatori.

After Giannetti, Dempsey, Pescatori, and Mizzi fell by the wayside, Frankenberger and Feldman battled it out for two hours before a three-outer on the river handed the title to Frankenberger, not to mention the $100,000 first-place prize-money. The final hand saw Frankenberger holding K/T and Feldman in a dominating position with KQ. After the board ran out J-8-9-A, Frankenberger would need one of the three remaining Queens in the deck, and it was the Queen of Spades that would bail him out.

Here is a look at the payouts for the final six players from the Party Poker Premiere League:

1. Andy Frankenberger — $100,000

2. Andrew Feldman — $65,000

3. Sorel Mizzi — $45,000

4. Max Pescatori — $35,000

5. James Dempsey — $30,000

6. Matt Giannetti — $25,000

Over the past year Frankenberger has won a WPT title, made another two WPT final tables, captured the WPT Player of the Year Award, won a World Series of Poker bracelet, and now he has captured a Party Poker Premiere League title.
