Partouche Poker Tour final table restarts November 12

The 2011 World Series of Poker is now officially in the books, but we don’t have to wait until January’s PCA and Aussie Millions for the next major poker tournament. Over in France another tournament has decided to implement the WSOP format of a prolonged break in between the tournament and the final table: The Partouche Poker Tour.

The Partouche Poker Tour has quickly risen to prominence as one of the most prestigious tournaments in poker, evidenced by the second straight running of the Championship that will award at least €1 million to the winner –last year the winner took home €1.3 million! After such a tremendous showing in 2010 it comes as no surprise that for the second straight year the Partouche Poker Tour went on a prolonged hiatus after playing down to the final table. The final table is set to reconvene on November 12th, at which time the final nine players in contention for the €1,000,000 first-prize are set to head back to Cannes to determine the champion.

Last year the PPT Main Event was one of the most controversial events in poker history as one of the final table participants, Ali Tekintamgac, was disqualified before the final table for allegedly cheating. The massive €1.3 million first-prize from the 2010 PPT Main Event was eventually won by Vanessa Selbst who entered the final table as the chip-leader.

In 2011 another poker superstar will try to duplicate Selbst’s accomplishment as Titan Poker Pro Sam Trickett leads the returning players with just over 2.6 million in chips. Trickett’s lead is about as small as you will ever see, considering four other players all have over 2 million in chips and even the short-stack, Alexander Dovzhenko has nearly 1 million in chips: Which should make for a highly competitive and exciting final table.
