6 Former Champions in the hunt at WPT Five Diamonds

After three full days of play the World poker Tour Doyle Brunson Five Diamond Poker Classic is down to just 49 players (after starting with 411 players) and there is no shortage of poker superstars in the hunt for the prestigious title. Amongst the remaining field of 49 players are an astonishing six former WPT Champions, including the 2010 WPT Five Diamonds winner Antonio Esfandiari, as well as former WPT champs Scott Clements, Jonathan Little, Matt Giannetti, Dwyte Pilgrim, and David Williams.

The impromptu former WPT champions reunion will be joined on Friday’s action by a few star players looking to gain access to the WPT Champions Club including Vanessa Selbst, Andrew “luckychewy” Lichtenberger, Matt Marifioti, James Dempsey, Allen Cunningham, William Reynolds, the WPT’s own Tony Dunst, Peter Jetten, David Pham, and Allen Kessler.

The 49-player field will return to the Bellagio poker tables at Noon local time on Friday where they are scheduled to play five more levels before calling it a night once again.

Here is a look at the chip-leaders heading into Day 4 of the WPT Doyle Brunson Five Diamond Poker Classic:

3. Antonio Esfandiari – 805,000

4. Larry Wells – 704,000

5. Madison Bergeron – 605,000

6. Scott Clements – 563,500

7. Andrew Lichtenberger – 530,500

8. Matt Glantz – 505,000

9. Jeff Frerichs – 439,500

10. Jason Dewitt – 415,000
