As the World Poker Tour prepares to embark on the US leg of its Season X schedule the company has issued a press release, sent to my E-Mail inbox, detailing a new stop scheduled for 2012 in Bensalem, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia. According to the WPT press release, the Parx Casino will play host to one WPT Main Event and three Regional Events over the next three years.

“We have put an emphasis on finding the right partners for expansion. Parx was an immediate target for WPT and have been wonderful business partners in getting this deal done,” said WPT President Adam Pliska. “The ability to crown a WPT champion in a town that has recently seen the Flyers in the Stanley Cup, the Eagles in the Super Bowl and the Phillies win the World Series will be tremendous for both Parx and WPT.”

For those of you interested in more information on the Parx Casino, here is an excerpt from the WPT Press Release: “Located in Bensalem, PA, just minutes outside Philadelphia, this beautiful new property features a cutting-edge, 260,000 square foot casino with a sizeable poker room that has become an instant attraction for locals and visitors alike. With more than 60 poker tables, and the space to bring in dozens more, the nearly one-year old poker room is an east coast jewel.”

More details will be revealed about the new partnership between the WPT and Parx Casino at the annual WPT press conference set to take place at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles, California on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 11AM.
