Mike Sexton’s excellent run continues at WSOP

Mike Sexton is perhaps best known as being the commentator for the World Poker Tour (WPT), or even for being a Party Poker spokesman, but he also plays poker, and over his long career has played poker at the highest level. Now Sexton finds himself in a heads-up battle against Chris Viox for his second WSOP bracelet in the $1,500 Seven-Card-Stud hi/lo tournament at the 2011 WSOP, where he is looking to win his second WSOP bracelet.

Due to his WPT duties, Sexton has cut back on the amount of tournaments he enters over the past decade, but in 2011 he has had something of a resurgence making a WPT final table and cashing in another WPT tournament, as well as a deep run in the WSOP $10k Omaha 8 Championship, and now the possibility of winning a bracelet 22 years after winning his first (ironically in the same event, a Seven-Card-Stud Split tournament).

The $1,500 Seven-Card-Stud hi/lo tournament was paused during the Sexton vs. Viox battle after the 10-Level Rule came into play, and the two will have to wait until 3PM local time on Friday to determine who will win the bracelet. Viox has a commanding chip-lead in the tournament, but at this stage it only takes a single hand to turn the tables. Here is a look at the chip counts for each player:

* Chris Viox – 2,090,000

* Mike Sexton – 640,000
