World Series of Poker Main Event underway

A smaller than expected turnout of 1,125 entrants took their seats in the Rio Pavilion for the first of four starting days at the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event. The $10,000 buy-in No Limit Texas Hold’ Em Championship is the culmination of the World Series of Poker, and over the past few years has drawn well over 6,000 competitors –WSOP officials are hoping to break the 7,000 player mark in 2010.

Up to 3,000 players can be accommodated by the WSOP on each starting day, but most players prefer to play the last day of the tournament because it follows a more typical pattern for them –players competing on Day 1a on Monday will have to wait until Friday before they return to action, where players participating on Day 1d will have only one day in between.

This caused a bit of a problem last year when the final day of registration produced more entrants than the tournament could handle logistically, which caused hundreds of players to be turned away from the poker tournament. So the WSOP tweaked their registration process for 2010, allowing for pre-registration, but once a day was ‘Sold Out’ players would have to choose a different starting day. Hopefully this will even out the starting days, but as Day 1a showed; this may not be the case.

So if you have decided to wait till day 1d before player, you can spend time at some online Casino’s aswell as real casino’s. So check out some Online Casino Reviews before picking which one to win your millions on.
