Vanessa Selbst dominates PokerStars NAPT Mohegan Sun wire-to-wire

With the inevitable ups and downs in poker it’s a rare site to see a player top the leader-board on 5 consecutive days of play, but that is exactly what PokerStars pro and Deuces Cracked instructor Vanessa Selbst was able to accomplish. Selbst turned in one of the most dominating performances in recent poker history finishing in the top 3 on every single day of the tournament!

Selbst went into the final table trailing only Mike Beasley in chips, and fittingly it was Selbst vs. Beasley when the action became heads-up. Selbst was able to capture the title when Beasley’s Q-T failed to improve against her A-8, giving Selbst her first major tournament victory and $750,000 in prize-money.

Selbst’s win is another major tournament victory for female poker players, and with the recent success of females in the poker world it’s starting to get to the point where female poker players should simply be called poker players, there’s really no reason to add the descriptive “female” anymore.

The PokerStars NAPT event at Mohegan Sun has been a rousing success and with the High-Roller event kicking off tomorrow the big-name pros will likely be in the Connecticut woods for another day; or two if they’re lucky!
