Vanessa Rousso Bio

Vanessa Rousso is yet another female professional poker player who was born in New York, America in 1983, learning the game fundamentals from the young age of 5 years old.

Rousso also falls into line with what seems to be the norm for professional poker players, graduating from university before making the cross over to playing poker on a professional level.

After being offered a full scholarship to Duke University, the bright female star was able to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, completing her studies in only two and a half years.

University wasn’t the only educational route that Rousso took either, moving on from Duke University to study law after been granted yet another full scholarship to the University of Miami Law School.

During her time at the law school, Rousso once again excelled, firmly taking a place within the Dean’s List after only 2 years of study, showing that this girl is definitely someone who is determined to become a success.

With her life been firmly taken up through study, the poker star opted to play in a number of poker tournaments during the summer season in accordance to her law school schedule, participating in 14 major poker tournaments during that time.

Although she was able to make the money in all 14 of those tournaments, it wasn’t until 2005 we the poker star recorded her first poker tournament victory, winning a No Limit Texas Hold’em Poker tournament in the ‘Summer Series’ based in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Although the starlet had cashed numerous times and recorded a victory in what is considered to be the gambling capital of the world, it was 2006 that Rousso really broke into the public eye after finishing a highly respected 7th place in the World Poker Tour Championship Event.

Building on her performance within that tournament, Rousso become hungry to win a major tournament and decided to enter into a $5,000 short handed No Limit Texas Hold’em Poker event within that years World Series of Poker.

After a strong showing, Rousso was able to beat out almost all of the participating players, taking a final position of 8th after a show of great determination and poker ability.

Following this performance Rousso’s public awareness grew rapidly, with the poker community going crazy for a young, attractive and intelligent female poker player coming through the ranks and making a new for herself.

It wasn’t long before Rousso was approached to represent one of the biggest online poker rooms in the world, playing with their tournaments and ring games to once again increase her public image and awareness.

A look at the female professional poker player’s statistics reveal that during her time at the poker tables, either within ring games or tournament poker situations, the starlet has won over $700,000 in poker winnings.

Playing under the alias of ‘Lady Maverick’, the star can be seen offering a poker lesson to some of the biggest names on the online poker circuit and with her relationship with fellow professional poker player Chad Brown, her game can only improve.
