History of BetOnline
BetOnline has been in the online gaming market since 2001, and in that time the site has grown into one of the most well respected sports betting sites in the world. At BetOnline you can be sure of three things:
- Your money will be safe
- The games offered will be fair
- Transactions will be processed as fast as possible
With the current situation involving US poker players, BetOnline has decided to offer their sports bettors the chance to partake in real-money online poker games right at BetOnline. The company purchased the rights to poker software –A version of the Hero Poker software—and has created an independent online poker room offering numerous games, stakes, and tournaments.
The poker arm of BetOnline was meant specifically as a way for the site’s current sportsbook users to play poker, and will be marketed as such. While this will likely mean fewer promotions and less players –since the site has no intention of joining a Poker Network at this time—it will also mean the site will boast some of the softest games in all of online poker.
The BetOnline poker room is still in its early stages as the site is still relatively new, PokerNewsBoy.com will be updating this review with any changes.
Games Offered
Currently BetOnline Poker offers a wide variety of different games including No Limit and Limit Holdem, Pot Limit Omaha, Limit Omaha 8, and Stud Poker games. Players can choose from cash-game tables, tournaments, and Sit & Go tournaments. However, because the poker site is still new, only the No Limit Holdem games have a strong enough player base to be spread, with the other formats occasionally running.
Traffic
One thing that has surprised me during the BetOnline soft launch is the number of players that are already participating in the BetOnline poker games. Evening hours can bring in over 3,000 poker players, and there is plenty of No Limit Holdem cash game and Sit and Go tournaments running at all hours.
When the site officially launches I would expect the traffic numbers to increase even further.
Even better than a solid selection of games and tables is the fact that BetOnline Poker is marketed to the site’s sports-bettors. Finding a collection of poker players who are this poor is something that has been unseen since the early days of online poker.
BetOnline Bonus & Promotions
Currently BetOnline Poker does not have a poker-specific deposit bonus, but you can take advantage of the site’s sports-betting or casino bonus and then transfer those funds to your poker account.
With the site in its soft-launch phase the only real BetOnline Poker promotions running at this time is the ‘Every Hour on the Hour’ freeroll tournaments, where you will find a variety of freeroll tournaments with varying prize-pools –the perfect way to build an instant bankroll at the site.
