Jaka reclaims lead with incredible Day 4 at the PCA
Most people probably didn’t think Faraz Jaka could play any better, or run any hotter at the PokerStars PCA after he jumped out to the Day 1a chip-lead, and then seemingly cruised along on Day 2 of the tournament to once again holding the chip-lead at the end of the day. After an up and down Day 3 he fell all the way to #3 on the leader-board, but after Day 4 of the 2012 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) Main Event he is once again at the top of the leader-board, putting in yet another dominating performance.
Jaka is the only player in the field of 24 players that managed to crack the 4 million chip mark. In fact he is the only player in the field who cracked the 3 million chip mark! Jaka will take his 4.1 million chips into Day 5 with his eyes set on a final table berth, while his closest competitor, Alex Fitzgerald will bring 2.7 million into Day 5.
Jaka’s path to the final table of the 2012 PCA still has some major roadblocks as a number of other top poker players also punched their ticket to the penultimate day of the event. Among the players joining Faraz on Thursday will be one of the EPT’s top performers in 2011 Martin Jacobson with 1.6 million in chips; 2009 PCA runner-up Anthony Gregg; the final woman in the field Xuan Liu who is coming off a 3rd place finish in the 2011 EPT San Remo Main Event; and poker pros David Peters, Byron Kaverman, Ruben Visser, and Kyle Julius.
Here is a look at the seating assignments and chip counts of the remaining players courtesy of PokerNews.com’s live tournament reporting team:
