High Stakes Action Dries Up On Line Due To WSOP.
High stakes action has started to dry up online due to the large professional poker players all flocking to the World Series of Poker is Las Vegas. The Majority of the top players were involved in the 50k Players Championship which is one of the highest stakes WSOP events. Luckily some early finishes for a few nosebleed stake players saw them return back online to the high stakes action.
This week saw Brian Townsend take down a 142k win from a few different opponents including Patrik Antonius and “christinhoch”. The game was Pot limit Omaha and Townsend played a few hands at 100/200 before moving up to the 300/600 tables to challenge Antonius.
Isildur was back this week playing multiple tables of high stakes poker against Di Dang, “URnotIndanger” and David Benefield. Isildur manage to finish $16000 up on the week after playing close to 15000 hands. Its nice to see that one of poker’s favourite online players back in the highest stakes action around.
At the end of the week the biggest winners are Observer 84 who won $249k, Townsend who is plus $142k and Jared Bleznick who is up 125k. The biggest losers include ginette22 and Urindanger who are both down $97k and this weeks biggest loser KTPOKP who has lost a total of $202k.
Though it was a slow week for high stakes action online it is hoped that the end of the Players Championships will allow the railbirds to see more action in the coming days. It is expected to still be limited over the period of the WSOP however.
