What started as a $51,000 win over Daniel Cates in the PokerStars Superstar Showdown series has been the catalyst for Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom’s best run at the online poker tables since he first burst onto the US poker scene in late 2009 at the Full Tilt Poker nosebleed tables.

When he first signed with PokerStars in late 2010 the young pro went on a $300,000 upswing before losing it all back, as well as about $400,000 of his own money, but his recent upswing now makes him one of PokerStars biggest winners for the year.

Blom has followed up his defeat of Daniel ‘jungleman12’ Cates (who plays under the name ‘w00ki3z’ at PokerStars) with a series of wins against top-notch talent. The first player to take a hit at the hands of Isildur1 was “gordo16” who lost nearly $160,000 to the Team PokerStars pro.

Isildur1 then went on to dominate Ashton “TheAshman103” Griffin to the tune of over $80,000, followed by a thrashing of Phil “mrsweets28” Galfond amounting to almost $150,000. The latest victim of Isildur1’s heater was an anonymous PokerStars player named ‘Kanu7’ who lost over $160k to Isildur1.

His recent winning streak has put Isildur1 into the black for 2011, as he is now showing a $202,000 profit at the online poker tables since January 1st, 2011 according to the tracking site
