Dusk Till Dawn Breaks Poker Tournament Record

The European Poker Tour London broke into the UK poker history books after breaking the tournament participation record for a single tournament, drawing in 848 players, smashing the previous record players field of 730.

With such an achievement that had never been seen in the UK before, you would have been forgiven for thinking that the number that entered into the tournament would remain as the record attendance for a long time but it seems that your thoughts have been wasted, Dusk Till Dawn has set another new record.

The £50 DTD Grand Prix tournament has sold out the full 900 places, a week before the tournament is even due to begin.

Created especially with the desire to try to break the tournament attendance record, it seems that the £50 buy in was too attractive to ignore for poker players all over the United Kingdom.

With the chance to get their hands on a first place prizepool of a little over £13,000 for their tiny stake of £50 seems to have got the blood racing for the players and if the tournament could have seated more or had an additional day in its schedule, you can only begin to wonder exactly how many more would have been interested in taking part.

Simon Trumper, the director of the record breaking tournament issued a statement to outline his delight at the response to the tournament offering, saying “We are delighted at the response and the backing of the poker community in achieving this amazing turnout, for the lucky ones that have got in we are sure next weekend will be an amazing experience and we look forward to welcoming you to Dusk Till Dawn. We can’t wait to announce shuffle up and deal to the first 450 players next Friday.”
