The North American Poker Tour is on its way to Connecticut, and it will be Mohegan Sun (the other casino in the Connecticut woods) and not Foxwoods that will be hosting the festivities. The NAPT tournament kicks off on March 27th with a $550 “Deep-Stacks” tournament, and will conclude on April 13th.

Among the tournaments will be the $5,000 Main Event, a $25,000 High-Roller event, and a $300 Ladies-Only event. In all there will be 38 tournaments taking place.

This will be the first major tournament at the casino, mainly because Mohegan Sun shut-down its poker-room over a host of allegations just as the poker boom was taking place. The closure gave Foxwoods an absolute monopoly on poker in the region, and even after Mohegan Sun reopened its poker-room many players are still unaware they even offer poker tables! Hopefully, the exposure from the NAPT tournament will bring poker players back to Mohegan.
