Kingdom of Poker Review

OVERVIEW

KingdomofPoker.com is a very interesting upstart site in the online poker industry. The site first launched in January 2012, making it one of the newest sites in online poker, but unlike most fledgling poker rooms, Kingdom of Poker has decided to forego joining an online poker network in order to offer their own unique gaming experience.  They are very new, but until they can get their traffic up they are sinking.  I tried it and there were only 20 cash players!

The sight focuses on Asian poker players, but players from other parts of the world are more than welcome to join the site, going so far as to offer Chinese Poker and Mah Jong to their customers, as well as the usual poker games found around the Internet like Texas Holdem and PLO. The site’s goal is to give you the most authentic feel of the booming Macau poker scene that is possible at an online poker site.

The site has even signed a handful of poker pros as part of their Team, with players like Andrew Chen, Joe Tehan, John Van Fleet, Simon Charette, and card-room manager Alex Fitzgerald.

At this time KingdomofPoker.com is not accepting US poker players.

TRAFFIC AND COMPETITION

It’s hard to grade KingdomofPoker’s traffic and competition at this point, considering the site is only months old, and is not part of a larger poker network. The path they have taken (opening as an independent online poker room) will be a tough road in the beginning, but it could pay-off in the end as the site can continue to do things their own way –for instance, if they had joined a network they would have to switch to the network’s software which would eliminate Chinese Poker and Mah Jong from their list of games.

SOFTWARE

The software at Kingdom of Poker is adequate at the moment, and should undergo a number of upgrades as all of the kinks get worked with the site now online. For instance, one recent software update saw the site add:

• Hand Replay -lets you immediately replay and review each hand you’ve played at every table during your current session – all in one place.
• Save hand history – by recording your game moves online you will be able to review and discuss your moves later.
• Financial History – you will be able to review your financial transactions at the table.

I would expect more of these updates in the near future as the site implements all of their features.

PROMOTIONS

As with virtually all upstart online poker rooms now is definitely the time to take advantage of the bonuses and promotions running at Kingdom of Poker. Currently the site is offering all first-time players a very nice deposit bonus of 100% up to $1,000. This bonus is available to all first-time players at the site.
