Doyle Brunson and DoylesRoom.com part ways

What was first reported on Friday on the gaming website Gambling911.com seems to be accurate despite no official statements coming out of the camp of either Doyle Brunson or from DoylesRoom.com at the time. With the evidence from Gambling911.com, a recent statement by DoylesRoom.com, as well as some conjecture at the WPT Championship it would appear that Doyle Brunson is leaving DoylesRoom.com.

Despite the site boasting his name and using his likeness in virtually all marketing ads, DoylesRoom.com issued the following statement to PocketFives.com regarding the breakup: “Doyle Brunson was a sponsored pro of DoylesRoom and he has left his endorsement contract. We have purchased his image and likeness and are allowed to continue to use those. Doyle will still continue to play in the Bounty tournament.”

If I may conjecture a bit myself, it would appear that in the wake of Black Friday Doyle has effectively been bought out by DoylesRoom.com with the payment being touted as a brand purchase.

Other goings-on have seen several of the Brunson 10 members sans any DoylesRoom.com patches at the WPT Championship. While Steve Gross was wearing a Doyles Room logo –as was Doyle Brunson—other members of the team of young superstars were not wearing Doyles Room gear, and Chris Moorman was even sporting a competitor’s patch, wearing the Party Poker logo!

It would appear that DoylesRoom.com is in a state of flux at the moment when it comes to its roster of sponsored pros.
