The Cake Poker Network loses another site -Lock Poker- to Merge G
What started with the loss of PokerHost was soon followed by Sportsbook, SuperBook and Players Only, and now word has come down that a fourth online poker site is leaving the Cake Poker Network to join the much smaller Merge Gaming Network. The latest site to jump ship is Lock Poker.
Moving from the 10th most trafficked network to the 20th doesn’t seem like a great business opportunity, but it’s likely that Merge has offered all of these sites a better share of the profits than the Cake Poker Network. Likewise, a couple of these sites are going to be the biggest draws on the Merge Gaming Network, where Cake Poker and Doyles Room held that distinction on the Cake Poker Network.
Sportsbook, SuperBook, and Players Only –all owned by the same company—are scheduled to join Merge on April 15th; as of now it’s unclear when Lock Poker will officially make the move.
Before you go crying for the Cake Poker Network, keep in mind they have a number of new sites coming online including UnaBomber Poker which has Phil “The UnaBomber” Laak as its figurehead.
