Adrien Allain wins WPT Amneville title
The World Series of Poker Main Event wasn’t the only poker tournament that came to a head on Sunday. The World Poker Tour was in the French city of Amneville this last week, and heading into Sunday’s final table, for the third straight day, the chip-leader was Scott Baumstein.
Baumstein entered the final table with a commanding chip-lead of nearly 4 million chips, while his nearest competitor, French poker pro Adrien Allain, entered the final table with close to 2.7 million in chips. But in the end the day, and the tournament, would belong to France, as Allain managed to capture his first WPT title, pocketing $452,816 in the process.
Baumstein, who was far and away the chip-leader heading into the last two days of the tournament, struggled throughout the final table, and ended up finishing in a very disappointing 4th place.
Here is a look at the final table payouts from Season X’s WPT Amneville Main Event:
1. Adrien Allain — $452,816
2. Jordane Ouin — $248,116
3. Thibaud Guenegou — $156,244
4. Scott Baumstein — $110,931
5. Michel Konieczny — $82,807
6. Arnaud Troue — $65,618
The WPT will now head to Jacksonville, Florida, where the Main Event Championship will take place from November 18-22; from there the popular tour will head back across the Atlantic, first to Marrakesh in Northern Africa and then on to Prague in the Czech Republic.
