David Diaz may not be a recognizable name to the casual poker fan –or even to most hardcore followers of the tournament poker trail—but the Tennessee native is playing in his third World Series of Poker, and is a regular in the poker tournaments in the Southeast United States.

On Thursday night Diaz scored his first major tournament win in the $1,500 No Limit Holdem Triple Chance tournament, booking a $352,808 win and his first WSOP bracelet. Before his WSOP win Diaz had won nearly $450,000 over the past two+ years at the poker tables according to thehendonmob.com, and when asked if he expected to win a WSOP bracelet, Diaz responded by saying, “Actually, I expected to win two. I don’t know why but I just did.”

We also had another woman come close to winning a bracelet for the ladies for the first time since 2008 –Vanessa Selbst captured the $1,500 PLO bracelet at the 2008 WSOP—but Andrea Dato could muster no better than a third place finish.

Here is a look at the final table payouts from the tournament:

1. David Diaz – $352,808

2. Anders Meli – $218,183

3. Andrea Dato – $138,044
