Day 4 of WPT Championship ends on money bubble
Day 4 of the World Poker Tour Season X $25k Championship came to a close on Tuesday night with 19 players still in contention for what is considered one of the most prestigious titles in poker. Unfortunately for one of those players, Day 5 will see their run in the tournament come to a close just shy of the money, as only 18 players will get paid.
For the player who winds up being the unfortunate 19th place finisher in the event, the five days of action, with nothing to show for it, has to be a record of some sort, and further hammers home the point that a poker tournament scheduled for eight days might actually be too slow of a format –if late registration running well into Day 3, and offering a 62 Big Blind stack at that point wasn’t enough to point out the flaws in this structure.
As for the 19 players still in the running, there are still six former WPT Champions in the field, as well as Steve O’Dwyer and Joe Serock, two of the top-performing players over the past year or so. Here is a look at the chip-counts and seating assignments for the final 19 players heading into Wednesday’s Day 5:

Day 5 of the 2012 WPT Championship will get underway at Noon local time with the players in Level 19 of the tournament, with blinds at 8,000/16,000 and a 2,000 chip ante. Five 90-minute levels are scheduled to be played.
