The name Dwyte Pilgrim won’t turn many heads unless you are talking to a hardcore poker fan, but the tournament pro has been tearing up the World Series of Poker Circuit series for a few years now, and ranks #3 on Card Player Magazine’s Player of the Year race.

Pilgrim has 3 WSOP Circuit series wins in his career to go along with 20 cashes, and he now has the chance for the breakthrough performance of his career as he headlines the final table of the World Poker Tour’s Borgata Poker Open. At the time of writing Pilgrim is amongst the final 4 players and is virtually tied for the chip-lead with Kia Mohajeri both have around 12 million chips –the other two players, Brandon Novena and Ofir Mor have 3.3 million and 2.2million respectively.

With a first prize of $733k the Borgata Poker Open would not only push Pilgrim into the spotlight, but would also comfortably pad his bankroll as well. According to the Hendonmob.com’s database Pilgrim has won #815,847 over the last three years, most of it in the past two. Pilgrim also cashed three times at the 2010 WSOP including a final table in the $2,500 Mixed Holdem tournament.

If your looking to play in the next WPT event you can quilify on Bodog for as little as $1.
