Final table set in WSOP $5k NLHE Shootout
In order to have a full final table of 10 players the World Series of Poker altered the format for Day 2 of the $5k No Limit Holdem Shootout, moving from four tables of 10, to 10 tables of four players. The short-handed format would seem to benefit the top poker pros like Erik Seidel, Justin Bonomo, James Dempsey, Toby Lewis, Jordan Young, James Akenhead, and JP Kelly, but it was the lesser known players who would triumph, sending all of the above mentioned players to the rail on Wednesday.
There were some pros who managed to survive and make the final table including 2010 Card Player Magazine Player of the Year Tome Marchese, 2011 WSOP bracelet winner Sean Getzwiller, and PokerVT coach and poker pro Adam Junglen.
The remaining players will all begin with 600,000 chips when the final table reconvenes on Thursday at the Rio at 2:30PM local time. Here is a look at the final 10 players in the $5k Shootout:
