Full Tilt, PokerStars and AP granted extensions by DoJ
Poker players were expecting to see what the next step in the process begun on Black Friday was going to be at the end of November, as well as for the hammer to come crashing down on Absolute Poker, considering the site, along with Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars, had until November 30th to respond to the amended claims filed by the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York.
However, all three online poker sites filed a Stipulation and Order seeking an extension; which was granted by the US Attorney’s Office. The sites now have until January 2nd, 2012 to respond to the charges levied against them on Black Friday.
A lengthy document (filled with the usual legalese) was released by the Preet Bharara for each of the sites, but they all read almost identically when it comes to the granting of the extension:
You can read all three Stipulation of Orders here (I have no idea why you would want to do this of course) Full Tilt Poker Stipulation of Orders, PokerStars Stipulation of Orders, and the Absolute Poker Stipulation of Orders, but here is the pertinent parts (just replace Full Tilt Poker with PokerStars and then Absolute Poker to read all three):
“WHEREAS, Full Tilt is in settlement discussions with the United States and has requested additional time to answer or otherwise respond to the Amended Complaint; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY STIPULATED AND AGREED by and between the United State of America, by its attorney Preet Bharara, United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York…”
