Hidden Headlines: Jungleman’s backer, FT hiring and more
There are quite a few stories lingering just beneath the surface of the poker world this week, and in this column you’ll find out about four different stories that you may have overlooked.
Tony G decides to stake Jungleman
According to a report on PokerNews.com, Tony G will be staking Daniel “Jungleman12” Cates in both online games and live tournaments, beginning with the current WPT Grand Prix de Paris. While Tony feels Cates could turn $5 million into $100 million I have two questions of my own:
* #1 why does Jungleman need a backer?
* #2 how does Tony G run so good as to stake Jungleman?
Haley Hintze on AP and UB Poker
Over at PokerFuse.com Haley Hintze devoted her latest column to the current situation involving Absolute Poker and UB Poker and their forfeiture to the Department of Justice. According to Hintze, the company is fighting the DOJ forfeiture claims. The entire article is fascinating, and nobody knows more about the inner workings of AP/UB than Hintze. Here is a quick excerpt explaining the reason for AP lawyers contesting the seizure:
“Rodes, on behalf of the “frat boy” founders of AP whose interests rest inside the Avoine shell entity, alleges that they are the true and real owners of the AP site despite a trail of paperwork stretching back several years that was created to disguise the very same ownership issue.”

Do you have what it takes to work for Full Tilt Poker?
Full Tilt Poker has once again taken to the Want Ads to find some employees! If you can fill one of the 12 positions listed by Rational FT Services maybe you can work for Full Tilt Poker once the site is relaunched by PokerStars. Here is what they are looking for: “talented professionals for a range of jobs in areas including information technology, marketing, design, customer support, finance and administration.”

Sam Trickett is a Free Agent AGAIN!
According to his Facebook and Twitter Trickett’s short-term deal with Matchbook.com has come to an end, making one of the most successful poker players in recent years a free agent for the second time in the past year (Trickett’s deal with Titan Poker ended earlier this year just before the WSOP). It probably won’t be too long before Trickett is scooped up by another online poker site, unless his recent deal with the ISPT precludes this.
“Finished my Temporary Deal with Matchbook today. What a ride that was! #goodtimes”
