Huck Seed wins WSOP Tournament of Champions

17 of the best poker players of all-time returned to the poker tables at the Rio in Las Vegas yesterday morning determined to crown a champion in the 2010 World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions. The tournament was supposed to be down to the final table by this point, which accounts for the early 10am start, proving how important the TOC is to the players.

When play finally became 9-handed it was Daniel Negreanu who was sitting atop the leader–board along with Johnny Chan –who was amongst the leaders throughout the 3-days of the TOC—but always lurking in the middle of the pack was Huck Seed, a player Negreanu mentioned by name on his blog as one to watch.

The final table consisted of Annie Duke, Jennifer Harman, Joe Hachem, Huck Seed, Daniel Negreanu, Johnny Chan, Howard Lederer, Barry Greenstein and TJ Cloutier: A group that has 4 WSOP Main Event wins and 33 WSOP bracelets amongst them!

Three handed play saw Seed, Chan and Lederer each having a spell as the short-stack and the chip-leader, but in the end it was 1996 Main Event Champion Huck Seed who will walk away with the $500k first-place prize-money, with Howard Lederer finishing in 2nd, and Chan in 3rd.
