Justin “ZeeJustin” Bonomo’s contract not renewed by Bodog P
Despite his remarkable success, Bodog’s original signing of Justin Bonomo made many in the poker world cringe, and the site now appears to have parted ways with the young poker star. Bonomo, better known by his online poker handle “ZeeJustin”, holds a place of infamy in the annals of online poker: Having been caught red-handed multi-accounting –entering the same tournament under multiple screen-names—and was responsible for creating one of online poker’s biggest scandals along with another well known player “JJProdigy”.
Unlike JJProdigy –who has been caught multi-accounting at least two times since—Bonomo has been able to rehabilitate his image, a process which seemed complete when he signed a sponsorship deal with Bodog Poker. However, Bonomo was seemingly dropped from Team Bodog this past weekend –his image and name were removed from the Bodog website—a move that comes on the heels of Bodog dropping another high-profile member of their team, Jean Robert Bellande.
No reasons have come down regarding the decision not to renew Bonomo, but one has to wonder if the move was purely financial, or if Bonomo’s past discretions played a role in the move.
