In a surprising move Lock Poker has decided to leave the Revolution Gaming Network and begin anew as an independent online poker site.

All current Lock PokerLock Poker players will be migrated to the new platform along with all of their bonuses, VIP points, and other accrued promotions, including their 36% rakeback deal. All new and returning players will also receive the same great Lock Poker promotions and rakeback deal.

A press release from Lock Poker headquarters announced the new undertaking, detailing Lock Poker’s plans to launch on their own online poker software platform.

The press release states that the new software will possess a number of innovative features, “HU Rematch, re-entry tournaments, timed tournaments, weighted contributed rake and a native Mac client.” The current VIP Rewards Program will remain in place and the New Lock Poker will also continue offering all players 36% rakeback.

Lock’s decision to leave the Revolution Gaming Network comes roughly one year after it helped create the network in 2012 when Lock Poker left the Merge Gaming Network and teamed up with Cake Poker to create Revolution Gaming. Now Lock Poker will completely step away from the network model and operate as an independent online poker room.

In the press release from Lock the company stated that it decided to leave Revolution Gaming after numerous breaches of contract:

“Lock has elected to exercise its right to terminate the contract as a result of the numerous and ongoing breaches of contract by the network operator.”

What Will the Future Hold?

The most important issue the new Lock Poker will face is handling their customer’s cashouts in a timely manner. If Lock Poker can solve this problem the site could once again climb to the top of the US online poker market.

Revolution Gaming’s poker sites have seen a dip in traffic in recent months after payment processing issues caused a backlash on online poker forums. With Lock Poker’s decision to leave the network it would appear the company feels it can do a better job processing these payments and handling customer concerns without the restraints imposed by the network.

The loss of Lock Poker will likely bring about the end of the Revolution Gaming Network. After a strong start the network has faced many problems since and the loss of their largest online poker room will only make matters worse.
