What started off as a fairly slow weekend in the world of poker really picked up steam Sunday and into early Monday as news story after news story came to light. By the end of the weekend the poker world was not only talking about the MicroMillions on PokerStars and the Poker Maximus tournament series on Lock Poker, but also new rumors that the Full Tilt poker sale to Groupe Bernard Tapie is possibly going to be finalized soon.

Poker Maximus tournament series comes to an end

The Poker Maximus tournament series on Lock Poker came to a close this past Sunday with four tournaments handing out over $1 million in prize-money. Utah bans online poker; opts-out of federal legislation

While most states in the union are looking to push forward on online poker legislation one state has decided to reverse course and simply wash their hands of any form of online poker: Utah. The Mormon capital of the world, Utah, recently passed a bill that not only makes playing online poker illegal in the state, but also preemptively opts-out of any federal legislation that may be enacted in the future.

New Full Tilt Poker sale rumors emerge

Rumors of a potential Full Tilt Poker sale to Groupe Bernard Tapie have been gaining momentum in recent weeks, and this weekend we learned that one anonymous inside source feels the sale is a “Done Deal” according to an article at PocketFives.com.

PLO-specific online magazine launched

There is a new online poker magazine in town, but this one is different in one major respect; the entire magazine is dedicated to PLO! The magazine, called NutBlocker, was started by several high-stakes PLO players including Andreas Torbergsen, Tom Chambers, and Gavin Cochrane.

Rumors of DASH Poker on Merge Gaming Network put to bed

Over the past couple weeks there has been rumors of the Merge Gaming Network launching their own version of Rush Poker/ZOOM Poker, but the network put these rumors to rest this week, saying they have no plans to launch such a format.
