Money bubble looms after Day 2 at Aussie Millions
The 314 players who returned to the Crown Casino for Day 2 of the 2012 Aussie Millions with dreams of becoming the next Aussie Millions Main Event Champion saw their numbers slashed to just 74 players by the end of the day. With just 72 players slated to make the money in the tournament, the first few hands on Day 3 should very interesting!
One player who seems virtually assured of making the money, and an incredible deep run, is Phil Ivey, who came into the day with the 6th largest chip-stack and will be going into Day 3 of the Aussie Millions Main Event with the 2nd largest chip-stack.
While most of the biggest names who took part in the tournament have been eliminated, in addition to Ivey, a number of other top-flight poker players made Day 3 of the tournament including former Aussie Millions Champion Lee Nelson, David Steicke, Jason Koon, Michael Tureniec, Kenna James, Isaac Baron, Billy “The Croc” Argyros, Grant Levy, and Jamie Rosen.
Leading the way into Day 3 will be Tim O’Shea, who is fast approaching the 1 million chip mark, and leads Ivey by roughly 150,000 chips. Here is a look at the Top 10 chip-counts heading into Day 3 of the 2012 Aussie Millions Main Event:
