New high-stakes poker players faring well

With the void created by the loss of the nosebleed regulars from the US like Tom Dwan, Phil Ivey, Daniel Cates, Scott Palmer, the Dang Brothers, and on and on, a number of European high-stakes players have decided to fill the void at the nosebleed tables on Full Tilt Poker, and thus far they have been holding their own.

Some of these players are complete unknowns, like the Swiss player “ronnyr37617” who scored a $450,000 win in Wednesday’s high-stakes action according to www.highstakesdb.com, while others are sometime “dabblers” at the nosebleed tables like Jens “Ingenious89” Kyllönen, who can typically be found at the levels just below the nosebleeds, as well as the Canadian hit-and-run specialist “XWINK”.

“ronnyr37617” recently won his first FTOPS jersey just days ago, scoring a $36,624 payday in the $200 NLHE Rush Tournament event, so perhaps he wanted to press his advantage while he was running-good and take on the best PLO players in the world.

Some of “ronnyr37617’s” opponents in the game included some of the top PLO talent in Europe including Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies, Gus Hansen, Patrik Antonius, Jens “Ingenious89” Kyllönen and “DrugsOrMe”.

Without the US high-stakes players in the game, many people felt the nosebleed action would dry up at Full Tilt Poker, but in fact the reverse has occurred, with some of the biggest action of the year taking place.
