NLHE Triple Chance underway at 2011 WSOP
Another No Limit Holdem event at the 2011 World Series of Poker means one thing, yet another big turnout as 1,340 players registered for the $1,500 Triple-Chance NLHE tournament on Tuesday. With rebuy lammers all over the place during the early action it’s amazing that just 160 players ended up bagging chips at the end of the night, including some well known poker pros.
With the money bubble set to burst at 144 players expect the action to pick right up on Wednesday as the players jockey for position, with eyes on the WSOP bracelet and $352,808 that will go to the winner.
Here is a look at the top chip counts at the end of Day 1 of the $1,500 NLHE Triple Chance tournament:
1. Peter Hernandez — 124,700
2. Jonathan Karamalikis — 122,700
3. J.C. Tran — 117,000
4. Brad McFarland — 101,300
5. Steve Watts — 99,500
6. Richard Trigg — 95,700
7. Ben Tollerene — 95,300
8. Andy Black — 85,300
9. Lakhitov Mikhail — 84,100
10. Arthur Lim — 76,700
In addition to Tran and Black, other big names players who will be in action on Day 2 include Cliff Josephy, Ike Haxton, Matt Glantz, Andy Frankenberger, Carlos Mortensen, Bill Chen, Steven van Zadelhoff, Justin Smith, Kathy Liebert, Jeff Shulman, David Sklansky, Ted Forrest, Sam Trickett, and Lauren Kling.
