Over 20 players pre-register for PCA Super-High-Roller
Apparently the massive $100,000 entrant’s fee isn’t a problem for at least 24 players heading down to the Bahamas to take part in the first-ever Super-High-Roller tournament. With the tournament set to begin tomorrow, there is already a growing list of players who have pre-registered for the tournament via their PokerStars accounts or confirmed they will be playing in the tournament, according to PokerNews.com the list includes:
1. Daniel Negreanu
2. Jason Mercier
3. Humberto Brenes
4. Bill Chen
5. Phil Laak
6. Antonio Esfandiari
7. Dan Shak
8. Eugene Katchalov
9. Nick Schulman
10. Sorel Mizzi
11. Tom Marchese
12. Hoyt Corkins
13. Scott Seiver
14. Justin Smith
15. Bertrand “ElkY” Grosspelier
16. Matt Glantz
17. Shawn Buchanan
18. Andrew Robl
19. Ashton Griffin
20. Vivek Rajkumar
21. Bryn Kenney
22. Bill Perkins
23. Masa Kagawa
24. Bryan Colin
With a $100,000 buy-in the tournament could easily eclipse most major tournaments prize-pool with a mere 50 entries –not to mention that the payouts would be extremely top-heavy with so few entrants! My best guess is that the tournament will attract close to 75 participants when it kicks off tomorrow; considering the high-rollers that have not already pre-registered but are sure to be playing in the event.
The Super-High-Roller tournament will kick off the 2011 PCA, and is scheduled to last three days.
