Player of the Year races tighten up in May
This is usually the time of the year where the biggest shakeups in the Player of the Year standings occur, considering the EPT Grand Final just finished up, the World Poker Tour Championship will be held in a couple weeks, and the World Series of Poker is just around the corner. And this seems to be precisely what has already started happening.
After leading by what seemed an insurmountable amount, Jonathan Duhamel is now getting pressed very hard on the BLUFF Magazine and the Global poker index Player of the Year leader-board, while at Cardplayer Magazine it’s still Aussie Millions winner Oliver Spiedel leading the way.
Players rapidly moving up the leader-boards include the two Dan’s, Dan Kelly and Dan Smith. Kelly is now 6th and 3rd in the BLUFF and Cardplayer standings respectively, while Smith is 3rd and 8th in the same two standings. Also making an appearance on the POY leader-board is Daniel Negreanu who checks in at #10 on the BLUFF standings.
Here is a look at the current Top 10 from the Cardplayer, BLUFF, and GPI leader-boards.
