PokerNewsBoy handicaps the WSOP Final Table Part 1

The bookmakers’ odds for the 2011 World Series of Poker Main Event final table are out, and there are some huge differences of opinion as to who will take down the WSOP Main Event, so in this article I am going to put my expert analysis to good use and handicap the final table of the 2011 Main Event.

Here is a look at Seat’s 1-4:

* SEAT #1: Matt Giannetti, 24,750,000

The high-stakes cash-game pro Giannetti is probably the only player at the final table hoping that Badih Bounahra isn’t eliminated –at least not early on—because he seems to be the one player at the table willing to surrender his blind. Giannetti also has an overly aggressive, loose, player on his immediate right in Staszko, and could win a big pot off of him should he pick up a hand.

PNB chance to win the 2011 WSOP Main Event: 7-to-1

* SEAT #2: Badhi Bounahra, 19,700,000

Bounahra is the long-shot in this race, and unless he opens up his game he is going to be in real trouble. Lamb, Staszko, and Giannetti will be attacking his blinds while O’Dea and USCphildo will be 3-betting a lot of his steal attempts. So not only is Bounahra the weakest player at the table –based on what I saw on ESPN—he is also in one of the toughest spots at the table.

PNB chance to win the 2011 WSOP Main Event: 15-to-1

* SEAT #3: Eoghan O’Dea, 33,925,000

I like O’Dea’s game, but I really hate his seat at the table. If he wants to win the Main Event he is going to have tangle with Phil Collins early and often and most likely Ben Lamb if two players in between O’Dea and Lamb are eliminated. If you put O’Dea in Martin Staszko’s or Ben Lamb’s seat and he becomes my favorite to win the Main Event, but the way it stands he’s in the middle of the pack.

PNB chance to win the 2011 WSOP Main Event: 6-to-1

* SEAT #4: Phil Collins, 23,875,000

“USCphildo” is one of the most experienced players at the final table, and along with Ben Lamb one of the most successful. He has a good seat draw and in his time at the featured table on ESPN appeared to be the most fearless player of the bunch –without being reckless.

PNB chance to win the 2011 WSOP Main Event: 4-to-1
