The PokerStars Big Game is back for Week 10

The PokerStars.net Big Game is back with another week of episodes, marking the tenth overall for the popular show. The lineup for Week 10 featured a battered Phil Laak –the episode was filmed less than two weeks after his ATV accident during the summer, Phil Hellmuth, David Williams, 2009 WSOP Champion Joe Cada, businessman Bill Perkins, and the ‘Loose Cannon’ David Fishman.

In the first episode we got a glimpse into yet another brash amateur, as Bill Perkins went the Jason Calacanis route and was a little flippant and overly talkative with the poker players –although I have to admit that Calacanis’s routine wore on me a lot more than Perkin’s has thus far.

The ‘Loose Cannon’ this week is a school teacher who seems to be playing a solid poker game, already making a tough bluff, and willing to 3-bet pre-flop.

Perhaps the best moment of the first episode revolved around a question posed by Phil Laak, where he pondered on the following: If you could instantly transport yourself into the future to any time –with the stipulation that you would be stuck living there for good or bad– how far ahead would you go? Laak says 40,000 years, to which Phil Hellmuth replied, “I’m happy with now! I’m in a good place.” The back and forth led to questions such as:

·    What if the planet is a fireball?
·    What if humans have evolved and no longer breathe air?
·    What if everyone is 10’ tall?
·    And finally, what if everyone is super-smart and then you show up?

Obviously this will be a very fun week for the PokerStars Big Game!
