The Bicycle Casino hosts one of the longest running and most popular WPT tournaments of all-time, but the Legends of Poker tournament has seen some changes for 2010. After a disappointing turnout of just 279 poker players in 2009, the 2010 World Poker Tour Legends of Poker tournament dropped its buy-in for the Championship Event from $10,000 down to $5,000. The reduced buy-in attracted a healthy 462 entrants, but the overall prize-pool for the tournament dipped to $2.15 million, down from $2.63 million in 2009.

45 players will make the money, with first-place worth around $750k –last year’s winner Prahlad ‘SpiritRock’ Friedman earned over $1 million when he captured the title.

242 players will return to the felt on Sunday at 1PM; the top 10 chip counts going into Day 2 of the tournament are:

1. Manuel Reyes – 205,350
2. Vinny Vinh – 180,000
3. Raymond Dolan – 165,500
4. Justin Young – 138,950
5. Max Casal – 138,500
6. Micah Raskin – 135,000
7. Philip Stark – 132,575
8. Ari Goott – 129,000
9. Ken Michelman – 125,200
10. C. Zadfar – 125,000

Also still in the hunt are: Joe Sebok, Barry Greenstein, November Niner Soi Nguyen, Allen Cunningham, POY leader Tom Marchese, Jeff Madsen, JJ Liu, and Phil Hellmuth.
