We have reached the official halfway mark of the 2012 World Series of poker and the tournaments are coming fast and furious, making it very hard to pick which stories demand the most attention. Fortunately I have the WSOP Notebook to deal with the overflow, and today there are multiple side-stories taking place at the WSOP, including Erick Lindgren making the final table of the 207 Lowball tournament, and an escalation of a Twitter Feud between two of the best known UK poker players.

Lindgren reaches final table

Beleaguered poker pro Erick Lindgren (read about his recent financial troubles here) has made the final table of the 2-7 Lowball tournament, and is sitting in a great position to win his second WSOP bracelet. Success at the WSOP has been few and far between for the longtime poker pro, and despite over $8 million in career tournament earnings, and a number of major tournament victories, Lindgren has been stymied at the WSOP.

Trickett and Feldman going to war on Twitter

For the past month or so there has been a lot of speculation about a Tweet by poker pro Sam Trickett claiming he had money stolen from him by another well-known poker pro and close-friend. Well it appears we finally have confirmation of the alleged thief’s identity, Andrew Feldman.

Interestingly, it seems Feldman brought on the confirmation by making light of the situation on Twitter, and only after his remarks did Trickett virtually confirm it was Feldman he had accused. So it appears we have a case of two people with two different versions of the same event going on.

What happened to the Ladies?

After a blistering start to the 2012 WSOP, that had women at virtually every final table, the ladies have seemingly cooled-off in the middle of the WSOP. That said, there are still a lot of tournaments left to be played and my feeling is still that this year that the women pick-up their first WSOP bracelet since 2008, and I still have hope that a female will make the final table of the WSOP Main Event.

With 33 players remaining, Allyn Jaffrey-Shulman is in the hunt in the Senior’s tournament, and as the money-bubble approaches, Cherish Andrews is leading the latest running of the $1,500 NLHE tournament at the WSOP.

The ladies are also out in full force for the $10k HORSE tournament, with Maria Ho and Jennifer Harman moving on to Day 2 on Sunday.
