Full Tilt Poker ceases check payments to US residents
A very unpleasant E-Mail arrived in my inbox today from Full Tilt Poker. I was informed that my recent –if you consider October 22nd recent—check withdrawal was cancelled due to an issue with their third-party payment processor:
Unfortunately due to an issue with one of our 3rd party processors, the transaction(s) has not been processed. Your withdrawal amount will be returned to your Full Tilt Poker account within the next 24 hours.
Now I probably should have seen this coming since my previous withdrawal took over 30 days to arrive at my door, but what I wasn’t expecting was the next bit of information I read in the E-Mail:
Also due to the current difficulties with check processing, we have temporarily suspended checks as a withdrawal option. If you wish to make a withdrawal at this time please choose an alternative option from the Cashier.
Hopefully this is only a temporary problem.
The final line in the E-Mail cheered me up somewhat, since in typical Full Tilt fashion I was compensated for my trouble:
In appreciation of your patience in this matter, we will be crediting your Full Tilt Poker account with $25 within the next 24 hours.
Please accept our apologies for any confusion this may have caused. Thank you for your understanding.
Of course this $25 will likely not cover the Wire Transfer fee I will incur to withdraw money from the site, but it’s still a nice gesture, and one Full Tilt has made in the past when a check I received from them was rejected by the bank –DAMN YOU UIGEA!
Now, there are still options for US players for US players to get their funds from Full Tilt, but they both incur a fairly substantial fee –Wire Transfers costing anywhere from $10-$50 depending on the bank you use.

This happened to me too. I was only withdrawing $200 so $50 is too steep a fee. I’m bummed.
i also had this problem, i tried to withdraw late october as well. but they are telling me the only way i can withdraw my 500.00 is BY CHECK but they dont know how long it will take because of this issue. well what happens if they stop checks all together? this is ridiculuous and full tilt should get their act together
