PNB Presents This Week in Poker Tournaments Sep 29-Oct 5
As the year-ending major tournaments draw closer the tournament action is once again picking up. Not only is the action picking up, but attendance has been on an uptick, which is a very good sign for the poker economy.
Strong turnout for the inaugural WSOPC Cincinnati
740 players showed up for the inaugural World Series of Poker Circuit Series stop in Cincinnati and when the dust settled it was local grinder Brad Albrinck who emerged victorious over the field. The biggest challenge at the final table for Albrinck was poker pro Aaron Steury, but Steury’s run would end in 6th place, while Albrinck went on to best the appropriately named David Kash for the title.

3-time WSOPC ring winner victorious in HPT Thunder Valley Main Event
The second leg of the Heartland Poker Tour’s California Gold Rush series is now in the books and the winner of the event was Michael Rosenbach. Rosenbach triumphed over the 542 player field to pocket the $180k first-place prize-money, and add a HPT title to his impressive three WSOPC rings.

November Niner comes up just short in Ireland
The $745 buy-in Winamax Poker Open at the Regency Hotel in Dublin, Ireland drew over 1,000 players (1,086 to be exact) including November Niner and Winamax sponsored pro Sylvain Loosli. Loosli navigated through the huge field (much like he did at the WSOP Main Event) and finished in 2nd place.

Just 111 players registered for the $1,500 buy-in WPT Regional Series Main Event in Reno; with 2009 WPT Bay 101 Shooting Stars champion Steve Brecher coming out on top.
