PNB Week in Review: Negreanu’s POY push, hackings, and more
Another wild and wooly week of poker is in the books and while there wasn’t too much going on in terms of tournaments, the forums have been ablaze with a number of controversies. We’ll take a look at these stories and more in this week’s installment of the PNB Week in Review.
Alleged Full Tilt Poker Remission E-Mail Raises More Questions
An intriguing E-Mail surfaced via PPA Vice President of Player Relations Rich Muny who posted the following on 2+2:
The following persons are excluded from the Remission process and are not eligible for payment from the Full Tilt Poker (“FTP”) Fund:
i. A past or present employee of FTP or any of its past or present affiliates;
ii. A past or present vendor of FTP that received compensation through FTP players’ accounts;
iii. A past or present Team Full Tilt player;
iv. A past or present shareholder of FTP, Tiltware LLC, Kolyma Corporation A.V.V., Pocket Kings Ltd., Pocket Kings Consulting Ltd., Filco Ltd., Vantage Ltd., Ranston Ltd., Mail Media Ltd., or Full Tilt Poker Ltd.;
v. A past or present officer or director of FTP, Tiltware LLC, Kolyma Corporation A.V.V., Pocket Kings Ltd., Pocket Kings Consulting Ltd., Filco Ltd., Vantage Ltd., Ranston Ltd., Mail Media Ltd., or Full Tilt Poker Ltd. or any of their past or present affiliates;
vi. A defendant in any civil action or a claimant in any forfeiture action brought by the Department of Justice related to the violations alleged in this action, or any related action (or any of his or her affiliates, assigns, heirs, distributees, spouses, parents, children, or controlled entities); and
vii. A person who, as of the Petition filing deadline, has been the subject of criminal charges related to the violations alleged in this action, or any related action (or any of his or her affiliates, assigns, heirs, distributees, spouses, parents, children, or controlled entities).

Laptop Hackings Causes Panic in High Stakes Community
The big story of the past week was the alleged laptop hackings that took place at hotels associated with the EPT Barcelona tournament series. The story reads like something out of a bad Hollywood script, but it actually did happen, which raises a number of questions regarding poker players and security, as I detailed in this column on another website: http://www.4flush.com/opinion/are-criminals-increasingly-targeting-high-stakes-poker-players/14801
Can Daniel Negreanu Pull Off a POY Trifecta?
With a second place finish in the EPT Barcelona High-Roller tournament Daniel Negreanu has reemerged as a potential candidate for what I’m now calling the “Real” Triple Crown of Poker: Winning all three Player of the Year awards – Bluff Magazine, Cardplayer Magazine, and the Global Poker Index.
Negreanu is currently in 1st place on both the Bluff and Cardplayer POY leader-boards, and in 2nd place on the Global Poker Index.

New 22Q Podcast Looks to Erase the Stain of the Ironman Podcast
On October 4th the guys from LowLimitPokerRadio.com will be hosting a 22-hour podcast to raise awareness for the 22Q charity.
If 22Q sounds somewhat familiar you may recall that a 50-hour podcast benefitting the 22Q charity was held in 2012. The event itself was tremendous with tons of high-profile guests who helped raise several thousand dollars for the charity. Unfortunately, one of the hosts of the original podcasts absconded with a percentage of the money raised, infuriating the other people involved.
This time around there will not be a donation element to the podcast itself (anyone who would like to donate will be directed to the official websites of different 22Q charities) as the podcasts only goal is to raise awareness for the 22Q deletion.
More details on the 22Q podcast can be found at www.lowlimitpokerradio.com
