wsop regional championshipAs the money bubble drew near towards the end of Day 2 at the World Series of Poker Circuit Series Regional Championship the action drew to a grinding halt, which allowed a couple of the more aggressive to make huge gains towards the end of Day 2.

Among those taking advantage of timid play around the bubble were Curt Kohlberg and Justin ‘Boosted J’ Smith, who were able to grow their stacks to the 2nd and 4th largest respectively. Sandwiched in between Kohlberg and Smith was one-time chip-leader on Day, David Paredes. Paredes was well over 700,000 chips at one point, but fell back to roughly 540,000 by the time play was halted.

Here is how the top 10 stacks look heading into Day 3 of the Regional Championship:

1. John Patgorski 729,000

2. Curt Kohlberg 704,000

3. David Paredes 539,000

4. Justin Smith 491,000

5. Dan Perper 482,000

6. Keven Stammen 400,000

7. Steve Zolotow 371,000

8. Mark Owens 343,000

9. David Baker 339,000

10. Shannon Shorr 328,000

A little further down the leader-board you’ll find names like David ‘DocSands’ Sands, Chris Klodnicki, Adam ‘Roothlus’ Levy, and Bernard Lee, all within striking distance.

Day 3 will be the ‘Play-Down’ day, where the remaining players will try to position themselves for the final table that will get underway Thursday.
