6 poker players reach final table of PokerStars NAPT High-Roller

With a lower than expected turnout for the PokerStars North American Poker Tour High-Roller Bounty Shootout the structure was changed to a 6-max event; with 5 tables of 6 players and a single table of 5 players. Looking for a turnout in the high 70’s to low 80’s, tournament officials will likely be unimpressed with the 35 players that registered for the event –One problem could stem from a late increase to the buy-in for the event a few weeks prior to the tournament.

Team PokerStars was heavily represented by players like Vanessa Rousso, Greg Raymer, Jason Mercier, Barry Greenstein, and Daniel Negreanu. Some other notable big names that stuck around to partake in the High-Roller event — the Main Event concluded on the 11th—were Tom Marchese (who won the Venetian High-Roller event), Sorel Mizzi, Matt Glantz, Steve Sung, Chiau Giang and Scott Seiver.

All in all it was a bad showing for Team PokerStars with only Jason Mercier making it to the final table. Mercier will be joined by Matt Glantz at the final table, along with Shawn Buchanan, Sam Stein, Luis Vazquez, and Faraz Jaka.

The final table will begin at Noon EDT today, below are the chip counts each player will take to the final table.
* Shawn Buchanan – $80,000
* Faraz Jaka – $75,000
* Jason Mercier – $75,000
* Sam Stein – $75,000
* Luis Vazquez – $70,000
* Matt Glantz – $70,000
