Are UB Poker and Phil Hellmuth parting ways?

The speculation is growing about whether Phil Hellmuth and UB Poker are going their separate ways. For the second straight major tournament –not to mention a Poker After Dark appearance—Phil Hellmuth has not been sporting the familiar UB Poker logo we have grown accustomed to seeing on his person.

The first person to notice the absence of the UB Poker logo was outspoken Victory Poker CEO Dan Fleyshman. Later Bluff Magazine confirmed Hellmuth participated in a taping of Poker After Dark sans the UB logo. Most recently it was blogger Mike Johnson who threw some new fuel on the fire when he revealed Hellmuth was once again without a UB Poker logo at the recent PokerStars.net NAPT tournament in Los Angeles.

Even more noticeable is the lack of response by either party on the matter. It must be pointed out that while Hellmuth has been seen wearing only his Phil Hellmuth brand at poker tournaments there are still many instances of the UB Poker logo on his website, and his image is still prominently displayed on the UB Poker website.

Phil Hellmuth has been with UB Poker since 2003, when the site was known by its original name Ultimate Bet. Hellmuth stuck by the company even through the vicious Super-User scandal that dropped UB Poker from challenging the likes of Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars down to a second-tier online poker site.

Hopefully we will have confirmation one way or the other in the coming days. Stay tuned as this story continues to unfold.
