Ray Bitar enters Plea, cites failing heart

We’re a little late to the party on this one so I’ll blame it on the news itself taking a while to sink in: Ray Bitar is apparently going to get off the hook without serving any jail time; the reason… Apparently Bitar has a failing heart and will need a transplant.

The news first came to light via the Wall Street Journal, and needless to say the poker world has been none too enthused that the man at the forefront of the Full Tilt Poker fiasco will get off essentially Scott-free… minus about $40 million of course.

Is Foxwoods Massachusetts for real?

On Monday Foxwoods unveiled their preliminary plans for 350-room, $1 billion, resort casino in the town of Milford, Massachusetts. The location is one of three proposals vying for a single license in the Greater Boston area, but a number of concerns have been raised about the proposed plan by Foxwoods, including people who think the idea is nothing more than ruse to keep a casino away from the southern Massachusetts border where it might draw customers from Rhode Island; customers who now go to Foxwoods in Connecticut.

WSOP.com looking for beta-testers

With a 2013 launch date in mind it seems that the WSOP.com website is now looking for beta-testers in Nevada to give their software a trial run and offer their criticisms and insights. WSOP.com is one of several companies that have received a license from the Nevada Gaming Commission. With the WSOP.com website looking for beta-testers it appears that we may very well have real-money online poker in Nevada before the year is out… although they were originally shooting for a late 2012 launch date, so who knows.
